What customers say?

“ Delicious laab, good spice level. Even though I can't understand Laos, Pi gave great service! Come here for dinner if you're stopping over in Pak Beng for the slow boar. ”

“ We were in Chiang Khong for one night. As we walked through the town, the host was very engaging as we walked past he told us about the local dishes we could try. We came back later and tried the curry and the lap. We were not disappointed the menus were handwritten. The view of the Mekong River was amazing and the food was delicious. Although the price is more expensive than Thailand, it was still a lot less than the hotel we have booked into. We wouldn’t hesitate eating here again ”

- Claire Coles -

“ Had the best curry we had in Laos here. Very rich and flavourful curry which could be made vegetarian too. Good prices, only issue was they do bring out dishes at variety of times so some of the group were finished by the time some dishes came out. ”

- Hamish G -

“ Buffalo Curry was flavorful, not spicy so if you like spicy you'll need to say something. The buffalo meat isn't stewed so it's fairly chewy and doesn't distinguish itself at all. The service was great. They got busy quickly around 6:30p.m. The red boxed wine had gone bad and was not drinkable, so probably better to order a beer. ”

“ I was skeptical but curry sounded good so we ordered the Buffalo since we like trying different types of meat. Everyone who wrote the reviews said buffalo curry. I have to be honest the meat sucked and is way too tuff and chewy for my liking. However, the coconut curry flavor more than made up for it. I have to say this is truly the best curry I've ever eaten! I love curry and I've eaten curry from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indian, Burma, and where else...I eat lots of curry and my hubby always bothers me to make him curry at home but boy, did this curry kick the ass of every country I've ever eaten curry from! I can't say enough about the coconut curry!!! They also didn't have fried fish which we were sad about but never fear. Across the street a local vendor had salted fresh grilled fish and boy, they kicked it out of the ballpark too!! Highly recommend the fish too but just know there are lots of little bones in it! But it was so fresh and light and just heavenly! Recommend it. Will try other stuff if we have a chance again...though we leave early tomorrow. ”

“ We had a lovely dinner here. There's not much to Pak Beng other then stay the night because of the slowboat stop, but this was a nice restaurant, the food was good, service was nice, maybe a bit on the pricey side in comparison to other places in Laos, but still very reasonable. ”

“ Guys they’re not joking…the curry is actually so amazing. It was my dream bowl of curry…thick but not spicy yet full of flavor….ill be thinking about this bowl for a while. I Laos. Got it with chicken and pumpkin. ”

- Isabel Cruz -

“ Amazing food! I had buffalo and pumpkin Laos curry, would recommend. Menus are sweet with notes from travellers too :) ”
